KSA demands clarification

Imphal January 16:  Kangleipak Student’s Association has blamed the education authority for encouraging running school with profit motive by giving recognition certificate to the institutions that does not possess the criteria of being an academic institution.

The student body demanded clarification over giving recognition certificate to those unfit schools and asserted such conduct of the authority has encouraged establishing education for profit instead of bringing quality education in the state.

Angouton Khuman, secretary HRD, KSA said under the council of higher secondary schools there are 175 schools and colleges and under the board of secondary education Manipur there are 980 schools in the state. Most of them are mainly the private schools having no land record in the names of the schools and they don’t have proper infrastructure with no proper playground which is against the criteria of being a school. MLAs and minister are involved in providing recognition certificate, added Angouton.

The shortage of school books even when the academic session has begun is the negligence of the education authority and it should clarified said the student leader.
