Hockey league underway

Hockey Union thrashed Social Youth Union Club by 6-1 goals in the opening match of the Manipur Hockey League 2017 played at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
Social Youth started off with bang with Malemnganba Singh scoring the opening goal in the 2 minute of play for the lead. However Hockey Union replied positively with W.Niranjan getting the equaliser in the 9 minute to level 1-1 goals in the first half play of thirty minute.
Making further advance in the game, Hockey Union increased the lead with Kh.Rinal Singh pushing home a field goal in the 40 minute and later teammates H.Amarjit smashing home theirs third goal in the 46 minute. The Social Youth team had favourable chances but they wasted the chances of six of penalty corners.
H. Amarjit came up with his second goal in the 49 minute and L. Devakanta struck home Hockey Union sixth goal in the 53 minute to wraps up the match.
YCCIC will meet KHSC while PHAM will clash with SEYO tomorrow starting from 12.30pm.
The participating team in the Men’s category are Khongman Students Club, Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur, South Eastern Youth Organisation, Youth Club cum Information Centre, Moral Education Intellectual Renascent Association, Hockey Union and Social Youth Union Club. In the women category are Ideal Club, Moral Education Intellectual Renascent Athletic Association, Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur, South Eastern Youth Organisation and Youth Club cum Information Centre.
