Police get busy ahead of Republic Day

As a part security measures being taken up ahead of the nation’s republic day police took up search operations in different locations of Imphal East and West districts besides increasing frisking and checking along the roads.
A team of Imphal West police today conducted a cordon and house to house search operation at Liwa road Oinam Leikai. The search operation started at 5:20 and closed at 6:40 in the morning. Five persons were pulled up for further verification. During the course of search operation, some gun licences were also verified. Three double barrel and two small arms have been recovered. The operation was supervised by Dr S.Ibomcha Singh, Addl SP( Ops)/ IW.
In another move of the state security force a cordon and search operation was conducted at Palace Compund Macha Leima Road by Imphal East District Police led by DSP CDO Robinsun and DSP Ops RK Saklemba from 5 am to 6.30 a.m. Around 300 persons including 70 females were verified during the search operation. Few suspected houses were searched during the operation. No one was pulled up as all were properly verified at the spot itself.
