Students Club beat Social Youth Union Club by a narrow margin of 3-2 goals in the Senior Mens Manipur Hockey League 2017 played at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
Nelson Singh provided the lead for Khongman froma field goal in the 3 minute of play but Social Youth Union team replied positively whe Deveshor Singh fetch the equaliser in the 8 minute to level 1-1 goals. However Social Youth team tightens their grip in the match bringing up their second goal from Anil Singh in the 20 minute.
Picking up pace, Khongman jostled its opponent defence with Rohit Singh bringing up the equaliser in the 22 minute to make 2-2 goals in the first half. The latter stages of the game saw, Khongman having the last laugh when Nelson Singh bring cheers to his bench when he slammed home the winning goal in the 44 minute for the victory.
In another match, South Eastern Youth Organisation thrashed Moral Education Intellectual Renascent Athletic Association by 8-1 goals. M.Premchand, Th.Henthoiba, N.Amarjit fetch two goals each while G.Dinakumar and Ksh.Henthoiba chip in with a goal each for South Eastern team. The lone goal for Moral Education was fetch by N.Rahesh.
