Kangchup Road Youth Physical Sports Association beat Tentha Polo Club by 3-2 goals in the 32nd N. Hazari & Dr. N. Tombi State Polo Tournament 2017 played at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The match was closely fought game with both team holding on with 2-2 goals till the fourth chukker and to determine the winner, an extra chukker for the golden goal was added where Kangchup Road prevails in the end.
Kangchup Road got the early shot when Dollar Seram struck the opening goal in the 2.07 minute but Tentha Polo Club got the equaliser through S.Priyo in the 5.05 minute to level 1-1 goals. As the second chukker failed to produce any goal, Tentha Polo Club shines in the thrird chukker when P.Bikash consolidates in the 1.25 minute to post 2-1 goals.
But in the fourth chukker, S.Deepak fetched the equaliser for Kangchup Road with a goal in the 4.27 minute to level 2-2 goals, thereby forcing the match to be decided by golden goal in the extra chukker. Kangchup Road gallops hard with S. Deepak hitting the winning goal in the 5.39 minute for the victory today.
In the other matches, Eastern Students Club thrashed Chingkhei Hunba Polo Club by 13-2 goals while Manipur Police Sports Club(C) beat Kangleipak Polo Club by 8-3 goals.
