Air force lifts diesel

In a move to fill the supply gape of diesel fuel due to ongoing economic blockade called by the United Naga Council the India air force today air lifted two truck tanks from Guwahati to Imphal. The BJP national leaders assured of airlifting petroleum products at a public gathering at Langthabal constituency on Friday. The first flight arrived at 9: 45 am and the second flight landed at 3: 45 pm.  


Congress and BJP clash injures 9

At least nine people including six women were injured in a clash between the supporters of congress candidate Okram Kennedy who is the son of CM Ibobi Singh and the supporters of BJP candidate Th. Jadumani at Kahngabok constituency, today. The incident took place this morning at Khangabok Cherapur which is under the jurisdiction of Thoubal Police station. There were no serious injuries. Police rushed at the spot where the tussle was taking place. The police fired teargas shells to control the situation which effectively brought to peaceful ending.


Apprehension to stop passenger service

All Manipur Inter State Bus and Allied Transport Association showing dissatisfaction to the shortage of diesel supply has warned the government authority not to invite for any unwanted outcome. Locals seize 13 kg of no.4

People at Sekamaijin Thongam leikai seize 13 kgs of heroine drug seized from two ladies from Churachandpur this morning. The local club saw the duo in suspicious manner and when searched their belonging with the help of local women and found 13 packets of heroine no. 4 drug. People burnt the drugs and later handed the two women to the Mayang Imphal Police.


Tamenglong people outrage

A section of people today burnt the effigy of deputy chief minister of Manipur Gaikhangam who also holds the portfolio of home minister. The citizens protested against the minister and all shops and trade business were shut down with the burning of the effigy at a market place in Tamenglong. Protestors say Gaikhangam has ignored the people of Tamenglong which invited the protest. The deputy CM today filed nomination paper at DC office Tamenglong. All the vehicular movements between Tamenglong and Imphal were stopped, said a source.
