Father of Sanjit exposes

Father of alleged fake encounter victim Chungkham Sanjit Meitei disclosed that negotiators were sent to him to withdraw the family’s petition to the court offering a sum of Rs. 20 lakhs.
Talking to the reporters at his residence at Khurai Sajor Leikai, Ch. Khelen father of Sanjit said, I am no more afraid after the disclosure of Herojit that he killed Sanjit following the order of the then additional SP Akoijam Jhallajit.
Sanjit was said to be a former cadre of the proscribed outfit PLA.
Khelen said One Takhelmayum Kenedy came and suggested me that he can get for him Rs 20 Lakh if he remains silent and withdraw the case filed against the murder of his son. The negotiator came during the peak mass agitation, said Khelen. He said Kenedy asked him to prevail a happy living constructing new house with the offered money.
Khelen said he will not compromise justice to his son’s murder for money. He said he handed the people for justice and appealed all to get justice.
In January 2016 after six years of the episode of assassination of Sanjit and Ranbina the police head constable Herojit Singh revealed that he shot unarmed Sanjit to follow the order of Dr. Akoijam Jhalajit who was the additional superintendent of police Imphal West.
On July 23, 2009 Rabina, a pregnant woman who was coming with her child was shot in an alleged police firing at Samumakhong and subsequently Sanjit was shot inside Maimu Pharmacy at BT road which is a walkable distance from the spot where Rabina was shot.
Fresh investigation is being taken up by CBI as permitted by the district session judge Imphal West. People of Khurai took up agitation for quick justice on February 15.
