Venue for PM rally shifts from Kangla

Following a complaint made by Peoples’ Resurgence and Justice Alliance, PRJA to the election commission the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally which was scheduled to be conducted on February 25 inside Kangla was inclined to shift the venue.

A PRJA team after lodging a formal complaint to the Election Commission on Thursday, met state electoral officials pressing organising the election rally at kangla.

The Sharmila party complained that Kangla Fort is a sacred site for the people of Manipur and conducting an election rally inside the place of worship is clearly against the election model code of conduct guidelines.

Erendro Leichombam, candidate contesting at Thangmeiband assembly constituency on PRJA ticket said BJP has to shift the location of the rally to Langjing Achouba ground in Imphal West. “We are happy to play our part in Implementing Rule of Law and promoting democracy” said Erendro.
