Pledge to safeguard territorial integrity

Political parties’ representatives (candidates) today pledged to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur by opposing the demand of Ngalim or a separate Naga Land after they are powered to represent the people of Manipur.
Number of candidates who are contesting the assembly elections today signed the “Pledge to the People of Manipur” initiated by the United Committee Manipur (UCM) and the Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) Manipur.
The two organisations launched the campaign demanding disclosure of the framework agreement between the govt of India and NSCN-IM and asked the candidates to give their signature as a pledge to the campaign. The signing on the Pledge to the People of Manipur” was held today at GM Hall.
Today 83 (BJP-22, INC-09, NEIDP-09, AITC-08, CPI-06, MPP-04, PRJA-03, IND -07, AIFB-02, CPI(M)-02, NPP-02, NCP-04, LJP-02, MNDF-03) candidates signed the agreement. The remaining candidates can sign at the office of the UCM by the 28th of this month. However NPF candidates were conspicuous by their absence.
