Neroca FC I-League dream alive

Imphal, Feb 25: Neroca FC keep theirs I-League dream alive as they hold on Mohammedan Sporting Club by 1-1 goals to booked their berth in the final round of the 2nd Division I-League 2016-17.
Playing theirs last home match, Neroca had a cautious start but they banged home the opening goal in the 29 minute when Singam Subash had a shy to goal from the left penalty edge but Mohammedan Sporting keeper Sankar Roy was vigilant to push away the ball, but not enough to avert the danger as Neroca forward Ejiogu Chinedu Emmanual jump to to loose ball to shot home the goal.
The tempo of the game was slow but both team was looking for loose oppurtunity and Mohammedan Sporting had theirs revenge from a free kick in the 84 minute from a foul. Zikahi Leonce Dodoz caught Neroca keeper Lalit Thapa wrong footed to slot home the equaliser on the right upright to level 1-1 goals to share a point each. Referee Jibon Chandra Gogoi booked Ashok Singh and keeper Lalit Thapa for foul and time wasting in the match.
It can be mentioned that Mohammedan Sporting Club had beaten Neroca FC by 2-0 goals in theirs home turf at Kolkata.
With the preliminary round coming to an end today, Neroca FC top with 13 point while Southern Samity, Kolkata finished with 12 point to qualify for the final round from Group B.  From Group A, Delhi United and Real Kashmir and from Group C, Fateh Hyderabad FC and Kenkre FC have too have qualified for the final round, which is likely to start from April.
