Angry polling station officers vandalised IW-DC

Polling stations officers who were given duty for the first phase of election vandalised the DC office of Imphal West district when the ballot papers were not distributed to them.

As par the order issued by the DC office ballot papers were distributed to the polling station officers at around10:00 this morning. However one duty returning officer instead of distributing ballot papers further to the polling officers made them start casting their votes as par spontaneous order from the DC inside Linthoingambi DC office hall.

Some of the polling officers objected and started vandalising the office demanding to distribute the ballot papers. The situation was brought under control with the intervention of police. Later a meeting was convened and the ballot papers were distributed to the concern polling officers.
