Poll clash injured 8

Clashes between Congress and BJP supporters at four polling stations of Andro constituency has injured eight during re-poll today.
The incident took place when Congress workers allegedly assaulted 8 BJP Workers who were visiting the polling station near Itham Moirangpurel this morning around 8. All of them sustained injuries at the face, legs and hands. Six of them have been admitted at the hospital of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital. The other two persons identified as Rakesh and Abothem were said to be missing.
One of the injured Thokchom Ningthem said they were assaulted by about 10 congress workers after taking them to the hills and attacked with sticks and catapults.
The casualties were taken to the hospital by a police team.
Today 34 polling stations were re-polled for the first phase state assembly election conducted for 38 constituencies on March 4.
