BJP to govern Manipur

Former minister in Congress Nongthombam Biren Singh has geared up to swear in as chief minister of Manipur for BJP government supported by the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and National People’s Party (NPP).
The coming up BJP government team led by Rajanth today met the governor of Manipur Najma A. Heptullah and proved their strength.
Prahlad Singh Patel Manipur in-charge, BJP talking to the reporters at Keishampat said Biren will swear in tomorrow as the chief minister of Manipur. Party president Amit Shah, chief ministers of Assam, Sikkim and Arunachal are attending the celebration gathering here at BJP office complex, added Patel.
The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 1 pm at Raj Bhavan.
BJP had recently claimed its strength of 32 legislatures with the support of four each of NPF and NNP, one each of Trinamool and LJP and an Independent candidate.
Biren Singh was elected from Heingang constituency. He was the minister of consumer affairs and public distribution in the Okram Ibobi Singh led Congress government. He left Congress and joined BJP last year.
In the election Congress got 28 seats while BJP got 21 seats out of the sixty assembly seats.
It remains a question from various quarters on social media if Governor has given the majority party Congress the first chance to form its government.
