Strike paralyses RIMS

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, the biggest regional health care and medical institute was totally paralysed as the medical fraternity of RIMS and its staff today began its total seize work strike demanding to appoint director which has been remaining vacant for 23 days.
The closure of the institute including its emergency and OPD services has disappointed the people who came at the hospital and who are under treatment in the hospital.
Doctors, nurses, medical students and staff today staged a sit in at RIMS campus while the seize work strike was on.
Brojen, a protestor said, without the head of the medical institute every management has failed and it will automatically fail even if we don’t seize our works. We have urged the ministry to appoint a least a director in-charge of RIMS, but still there has been no response, he added.
We will continue our seize work strike until a director is appointed for the institution, said Brojen.
There has been no head of the institute since the last director in-charge retired on February 28.
