Biren wants old age pension at door steps

Chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh is serious of distribution of old age pension and deliberated to make all possible efforts should be made by the all concerned to ensure that the old age pension is received timely by the beneficiaries at their doorsteps.
A review meeting of delivery of Old Age Pension was held today at Chief Minister’s Secretariat chaired by the Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh with the Principal Secretary (Social Welfare), Principal Secretary (Finance), Director (Social Welfare) and Assistant General Manager, Manipur (Mr. KamalKhanal, Convenor, State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC)) In the meeting, Chief Ministers observed that all out efforts should be made by the all concerned to ensure that the old age pension is received timely by the beneficiaries at their doorsteps.
In the meeting, it was agreed by the Assistant General Manager and all other concerned that remaining 11234 bank account of beneficiaries will be opened by April 30. For this, necessary camps will be organised across the state by the banks and social welfare department and a mechanism will be developed within this month by the banks and the social welfare department that the pension reaches the beneficiaries at their doorsteps.
