Security forces catches an arm dealer

Jammu and Kashmir Rifles and the state police yesterday apprehended a gang member who has been involving in arms dealing at Laiphrakpam.

Based on a report of weapons trafficking and UG movement from the army surveillance team, 5 JAK RIF, Tulihal Battalions, Mayang Imphal Coy along with Wangoi Police Commando during checking Md Firoj khan, age 35 years, s/o late Majid Ali of Lilong Turel Ahanabi was apprehended with one U.S made 7 mm (.32) pistol loaded with live bullets.

On spot questioning the individual confessed that has been a member of a gang which has been involved in major arms dealing, vehicle theft and extortion. An FIR has been lodged and the individual was handed over to Wangoi police station. Further investigations are under progress.
