Manipur Veteran Cricket

Youth Welfare Club Langthabal booked theirs place in the semi final with 8 runs victory over Napsa Kha Imphal in the 14th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2016-17 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Taking the crease after winning the toss, Youth Welfare Club had a slow start but Shashi Singh steadied the innings hitting 39 runs from 41 ball with Gojendro Singh giving him support with 14 runs to post 106 runs for 10 wicket from 29.2 overs. Dijen Singh and Premchand Singh contributed 8 runs each.
Among Napsa bowler Surjit Singh was the most succesfull bowler claiming 3 wicket for 29 runs while Bhogen Singh and Himant bagged two wicket each and Gautam got 1 wicket.
In reply, Napsa batsman withstood the medium pace attack of Youth Welfare Club but the spinner played the tricks as the former were bundled out for 98 runs for 10 wicket from 20.5 overs. Somorendro Singh was top scorer with 15 runs while Brojen got 14 runs and Keshorjit Singh fetch 13 runs.
Youth Welfare Club bowler Kumarjit Singh bagged a hattrick for 12 runs from 2.5 overs to collect the man of the match award while Samananda fetch 2 wicket and Rojesh pick up 1 wicket.
The first semi final will be played between Model Club(B) Chingamakha and Youth Welfare Club on April 19 while in the second semi final will have Model Club(A) taking on Cyclone Thangmeiband the next day.
