Veteran Sports Association Imphal(A) thrashed VSA Sora by 4-1 goals in the 1st Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Tournament 2017 played at Pamyal Ground, Patsoi.
Veteran Sports got the early breakthrough in the 4 minute when Md.Azad got the opening goal for the lead in the first half. Later S.Gandhi consolidated for Veteran Sports team in the 31 minute to post 2-0 goals. The VSA Sora seems to regain theirs composure when Md.Iqbal struck his team opening goal in the 36 minute but that turned out to be theirs last as well in the match.
S.Gandhi races up to prove his worth when he struck Veteran Sports third goal in the 48 minute and later Md.Rehman seal the fate of its opponent VSA Sora, scoring the fourth goal in the 47 minute to score 4-1 victory.
In another match, VSAI(B) blanked United Veteran Sports Association, Lilong Chajing by 4-0 goals. Rajen Khanganba struck two goals in the 21 and 42 minute while N.Imocha in the 25 minute and Somendro Singh in the 50 minute for VSAI(B) for the victory today.
Challenge Cup: AVFA Akhampat hold on FC Wangkhem by 1-1 goals in the 19th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2017 which got resumed at Akhampat ground in Imphal East. Kh.Wanglen struck the opening goal in the 4 minute of play and later K.Singhajit fetch the equaliser in the 16 minute to level 1-1 goals to share a point each.
