Storm blows away River Bank Fest

Strong storm of last night had blown off the River Bank Festival on the first day compelling to cancel the second day of the festival.

The heavy rainstorm occurred in the midnight had shattered the stage of the musical festival while the concert was going on. The few stalls opened at the concert ground premise were also destroyed. Following the total destruction the organisers had no option, but to cancel the second day of the festival.

The festival was jointly organised by Leipung Wah Entertainment and Nongmaishang as its fourth edition of its campaign to stop contamination of rivers in the state at Brahmapur Bhagyabati Leikai in Imphal East district, near by the river bank of Imphal Turel.

Tapta, Sori Senjam, Kennedy Khuman Sampa, Recycle, Nongyai Hee, The Cajon Diaries, Echil Enao, Pendulum Swing, Sanahidak were lined up to perform in the two days festive campaign that was launched yesterday.

So far the organisers of the festival have not decided when the second day of the festival would be conducted.

Everyone at the festival ground fled in mad when the storm came into attack. “One of my fried was hit with a bamboo pole at the head, many might be injured” said an audience.
