Flood alarms

Heavy rainfall has brought fear of flood in several parts of the low lying areas and some nearby river banks in the state were flooded. Governor Najma A. Heptulla declared half holidays for all government institutions including public sector undertakings for today on account of sudden flood. Police apprehended a man along with his first wife for killing his second wife and trying to cremate by Nambul river at New Nambulane TYC Ground this morning. Police seizes WY tablets worth Rs. 2.1 lakh

Churchandpur police has seized the ‘World is Yours’ drug tablets estimated a market value of Rs. 2, 10, 000 approximately from a trafficker in a van at Kangvai outpost. The accused trafficker was identified as Lalminthang, 47 from Haingtam-V, Singhat  sub division. According to the source, a total of 2958 tablets of WY were found in 10 packets inside the van.
