Drive for food safety

Food Safety Enforcement Wing has conducted a drive at Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar and shielded some shops which were shut down on hearing of the drive. The drive was conducted by a combined team of Enforcement Wings of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Bisnupur Districts under the supervision of Food Safety Commissioner, P.K Singh. Oil tanker drivers on strike -panic buyers on queue

Demanding to provide adequate security along the National Highways infested by militants the oil tanker drivers had launched its cease work strike by halting ferrying of fuel oil since yesterday following which people were seen today lined up long queues at oil pumps in Imphal. The drivers took up the strike following an attack at two diesel oil tankers and a petrol tanker which injured three drivers along National Highway-2 in between Changoubung and Kangpokpi on Sunday.
