ROYAL RIDERS LAUNCH ITS PLASTIC FREE CAMPAIGN

Royal Riders Manipur (RMM) today launched its plastic free environment campaign as its 9th edition of Mahousa Ima Lairembi Ningsing Tha, a month-long campaign in connection with the World Environment Day.
Ziit Saikhom, general secretary of RRM said that the campaign is being hosted in cognizance of the theme of the United Nation’s month-long observation in connection with World Environment Day “Connecting People to Nature.” The main objective of the campaign is creating a plastic free environment, he added.

Only a small portion of plastic waste is recycled while large amount of them are affecting the nature. Human health problems have grown over the past decades due to the harmful chemicals produced from the plastic products, said Ziit.
The support of the public applies similarly in the RRM’s campaign for a free plastic environment which has been going on successfully for many years.
The poster and sticker campaign which started from DM College campus passed all the way through Lila Singh Khongnangkhong, Chingmeirong, Khurai-Lamlong, Kongba Bazar, Singjamei and main thoroughfares of Imphal East and Imphal West districts before winding up at the starting point.
The disturbance free environment campaign will conclude on June 5 at the office of RRM at Games Village, Langol with a mass public awareness campaign programme.
