Denouncing against the yesterday blast at the border town Moreh, civil societies of Moreh HTC, KSO, MYC and KWU & HR has imposed 24 hours total shut down in Moreh and Asian Highway-1 from midnight, today.

The powerful IED blast was triggered by unknown miscreants near Gamnong Veng community hall at around 7: 10 pm.

The announcement of the total shut down protest was made in a statement released today by the Hill Tribal Council. The statement said the unscrupulous act has caused fear psychosis and insecurity among the civilian at Moreh and the total shut down strike is imposed to mark protest against the blast.

The CSOs through the statement urges the government to take up positive measures to prevent occurrence of such blast in and around Moreh. It also appeals the individual or group concerned involved in the blast not to disturb the peaceful environment of Moreh by refraining from such anti-social activities in future.

Medical, fire service and pre-plan religious service are exempted from the strike.
