Imphal West boxers claimed the overall team champion title of the State Level Boxing Championship 2017 which concluded at Khuman Lampak Boxing Ring.
Imphal West finished with 90 points while Bishnupur boxer took the runners up title fetching 79 points and Imphal East collects the third spot with 38 points.
The last day action saw Imphal West boxer, who had dominated the championship, adding four more gold medals to theirs overnight total with Y.Priyo Meitei punched out O.Brandon of Bishnupur in the Senior Men’s 64 Light Welter Weight division. The other gold medalists for Imphal West are H.Mahe Devi in the Senior Women 51kg Fly Weight, Th.Yaisana Chanu in the Senior Women 54kg and H.Paulin Kumar in the Senior Men’s 49kg category.
Thoubal boxers also bagged three gold medals with L.Ronalson Khuman in the Junior Mens 64kh Light Weight, Ak.Naoton Meitei in Sub Junior 54-57kg and S.Debikarani Devi in the Junior Women 60kg Light Weight division.
Bishnupur boxers come up with two gold medals from Grace Yumnam in Sub Junior Women 48kg and Ng.Reema Devi in the Junior Women 46-48kg. Manipur Police Sports Club, Imphal East and Churchandpur boxers also came with a gold medals each.
