WE NEED TO KNOW OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: HEALTH MINISTER

Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar singh expressed that everybody should, understand his/her social responsibility and act accordingly. Attending the Inaugural Function of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight-2017 in the Conference Hall of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, JNIMS today as the Chief Guest, he said that Cleanliness, Proper Sanitation and Child Care are the major steps to be maintained by a mother as preventive measures of Diarrheoa. Mothers need to be well aware about diarrhoea to control the disease.

Minister also mentioned that different steps are being taken up by the concerned departments to control diarrhoea. He said that good health of a child is also necessary to keep distance from diarrhoea.

On the other hand minister expressed his deep concern about the prevailing complexity regarding transfer and posting of health staffs particularly doctors, nurses and para-medical staffs against the shortage of doctors in the state.

The Government is doing its best level to overcome this situation in order to create a conducive atmosphere for giving the best services in the state, he added. Shri Jayantakumar also mentioned about the concept of Flying Doctors and its importance in the state. Stating about Flying Doctors, minister stated that the Governor of Manipur has already been discussed about the mater in which there is a positive signal from the Governor.

Attending the function as President Sumant Singh, IAS, Secretary Health & Family Welfare Manipur said that we should not get confused between simple and complex things  rather take interest in simple things.

Director Education (S) Shri Th. Kirankumar Singh in his Guest-of-Honour’s speech said that it needs to identify the month or season of the year which register the maximum number of diarrhoea cases and accordingly so that required plan can be taken up early.

The function was attended by Smt. Jacintha Lazarus, Director Social Welfare Manipur, Dr. K. Lokendro Singh, Director Health Service Manipur and Prof. Deben Laishram, Director JNIMS as Guests of Honour. Health Services officials, Nurses Students and others were also present at the inaugural function. (DIPR)
