Ksh. Bhabananda Singh, Hon’ble M. P. Rajya Sabha along with Education, Labour and Employment Minister Th. Radheshyam Singh Parliamentary Secretary Finance and Science & Technology Th. Satyabata Singh yesterday visited South East Manipur College and Union Model School Komlathabi, Chandel District.

Meeting the teachers and village authorities the Education Minister said the government would try to provide whatever they can. However, he added he would not make any commitment or promises. The faculty members requested the ministers to upgrade the college to a full-fledged government college. They also highlighted the need to develop the infrastructural condition of the college and memorandums were also submitted.

Educational institution, he said should be regarded as a sacred place like the place of worship. Because schools and colleges is the place, where the children are going to receive the wealth of knowledge that will guide them to brighter and better future he added.

Later the people of Thamlapokpi village felicitated them at their church. In the visit, officials and ADC members were also present. (DIPR)
