KSO dares to call indefinite general strike

The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) has cautioned to impose indefinite general strike demanding the killers of Letkholal Haokip, president of HSO.

Talking to the reporters at Kuki Inn in Imphal, president of  KSO Paotinthang said the student body is imposing indefinite general strike from July 4 untill the killers are arrested.

Letkholal @ Palal was shot to death at point blanks inside his vehicle on June 23 evening in front of his residence at Langol Games Village.

It has been six days since the murder took place the law enforcing agency has failed to book the culprit(s) and the patience of the public is waning thin.

The assailants were trailing him in a grey Maruti 800 car. They stopped the vehicle where Lekholal was travelling and shot him five times near the gate of his house.

The KSO  has been demanding to arrest the killers and at the same time appealed to those involved in the killing to reveal the motive behind the killing of Lekholal.

The student body on June 24 pressed the government through a memorandum to book the assailants within 48 hours. After the deadline the investigating authority requested to extend the deadline and accordingly the dealine was extended for four (4) days. The extended deadline ended today, said the student leader.

The investigation had already established the identities of two assailants but no arrest has been made, said Paotinthang.

The KSO reteriated that as par the decision of the victim family the dead body of deceased will remain unclaimed until the demands are fulfilled.

The student body urged the killers to surrender to the police.

Chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh in different occasions have been urging the people of Manipur not to create any disturbances in the society saying that general strikes or blockades are against the law and that will be dealt according to law.
