One cyber criminal arrested

A combined team of  state police cyber crime unit, Imphal West and Bishnupur police  has arrested one cyber criminal for posting vulgar messages and whatsapp video calls to a girl.

The crminal was arrested following a complaint made to Irilbung police by a girl on April 10 stating that on  April 7 at around7.56 am one unknown person purported as Rakesh of Nambol has been sending her obscene messages and whatsapp video call to her mobile.

An inquiry was being conducted by the cyber crime unit, Imphal West. During the course of inquiry it was learnt that the crime was conducted by one person namely Ningthoujam Lokhendro Singh (24) son of  N. Tomba Singh of Bishnupur Yengkhom Leikai ward no 11, Bishnupur district. He disclosed that he got the mobile number of the complainant from her Facebook account.

He showed his private part by calling on whatsapp video call and also sent other vulgar messages to the complainant, says police.

He was arrested by a the team led by K. Abhijeet Singh under the supervision of  senior superintendant of police, Imphal West from his residence and seized one mobile handset and two SIM cards of Aircel which were used in commission of the crime. The case was handed over to Irilbung police station for further investigation.
