Imphal West police commandos today arrested singer Thoudam Premkumar popular as Tamanao along with one associate as KCP (Lamyamba Khuman) cadres.
Thoudam Premkumar @ Manao @ Tamanao Singh (30)yrs son of Th. Budhichandra Singh of Samushang Santipur, Waheng Khuman side was arrested along with Md. Manir Khan (35)yrs son of Md. Ahamad Ali of Oinam Sawombung.
Premkumar disclosed to police that he is a local singer by profession and also working for KCP organisation under the command of S.S Chairman Laishram Mangoljao @ Lamyanba khuman of Awang Khunou, presently staying at Nepal since 2012, says police.
One .32 pistol loaded with 5 live rounds and a Chinese hand grenade with one detonator which were kept concealed inside his maruti car 800 were recovered.
Md. Manir disclosed that he is working for the organisation with Premkumar through Lamyanba khuman three months back.
One mobile handset was recovered from his possession.
Both of them admitted that the recovered pistol and grenade were collected from one unknown person from Kangchup area on the instruction of S.S. Chairman two months back to be used in extortion of money from general public.
The two were handed over to Wangoi police for further necessary legal action.
