ST. JOSEPH’S HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL BUILDING INAUGURATED

St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School Sangaiprou building was inaugurated today. Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam; Archbishop of Imphal Dominic Lumon D.D.; MAHUD, Town Planning Forest & Environment, Horticulture & Soil Conservation Minister Shri Th. Shyamkumar; Education and YAS Parliamentary Secretary Shri K. Robindro Singh; Patsoi A/C, MLA Km. AK. Mirabai Devi graces the inaugural ceremony.

Speaking as Chief Guest Th. Radheshyam said, Manipur needs to develop many more schools to meet the increasing demand for admission to higher education for students. He points out that the issue of drop out students due to failure in getting admission in the state as well as outside the state for further education after high school will be somehow lessen by the upgradation of St. Joseph School to a Higher Secondary School.

Appreciating the contribution of the school in the educational field of the state, he said, education should not only mean to make one literate rather to develop the students in all fields, train them to become more human and imbibe with values of being a good human. To have beautiful mind and the body, young minds should be nourished to give more time to strengthen their mind so they could attain the true essence of humanity, he added.

Th Shyamkumar lauded the endless efforts and selfless sacrifices of the fathers and sisters of Catholic Missionary who leaving their love and near one behind are dedicating themselves for imparting education in the state.

K. Robindro Singh said, with announcement of free admission to higher secondary school in his constituency the number of students has increased to nearly 600 which exceeds the seat capacity of 250. One should never force their children of what they should and shouldn’t be doing, he added.

AK. Mirabai said, as local MLA she will render whatever help she can to development the educational institution.

The students presented different cultural programmes during the ceremony. Teachers, guardians, and the local people also attended the function.
