Opium sieze in queue

Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and consumption the Thoubal police commandos and narcotic cell of Imphal West Police have been able to seize opium that valued upto around Rs.10.5 lakh from two persons since yesterday.

Today at 10.30 am , Imphal West District Police , Narcotic Cell seized 3.5 kg of Opium worth Rs 4.5 lakhs ( approx) from the possesion of one Paolenmang Khongsai (35) son of Paosei Khongsai of Phainom Village, P.O/ P.S – Saikul at ISBT , Khuman Lampak.

The accused along with the seized item were handed over to Imphal P.S for necessary action.

Yesterday at 9.00 am a team of Thoubal police commando and WPS arrested Lhingkhotinthem Baite @ Thethem (55) wife of Thongkholun Baite of Moljol, Churachandpur from Wabgai Lamkhai and seized 4.93 kg of opium worth Rs. 6 lakh.

The arrested person along with the seized articles are handed over to Kakching PS for further necessary action.
