State police today nabbed an overground worker of PREPAK along with a demand letter addressing to health minister Jayantakumar.
Today at around 9:00 am under the supervision of SP Imphal East K. Kabib received a reliable information that one suspected Over Ground, PREPAK Cadre were moving in and around the palace compound for conducting extortion in the Government Department and private hospitals.
A police team led by Wungpam Kasar, Additional SP (LO)/IE tried to stop one suspected Bolero Jeep bearing Regd. No. MNO7D-1561 but the vehicle managed to fled away towards Babupura. However the vehicle was intercepted in front of Office of Keyston Infra Pvt. Limited, Babupara.
On spot verification he identified himself as Mayengbam Uttam Singh (35yrs) S/o M. Ibotombi Singh of Nongpok Keithelmanbi Awang Leikai, yairipok, Imphal East.
On checking one demand letter of the banned UG PREPAK addressed to the Minister, Health Department, Manipur, dated 17/05/2017 Ref. No. PR77705/FSM/PK/2017 signed by one Aheiba Angom S/S Finance Secy. of PREPAK and one Samsung mobile phone with two sim cards bearing numbers 8974404351(Airtel) and 8414839376 (Voda) and IMEI nos. 356899054527903 and 356900054527909 , one wallet containing driving licence , one Aadhar card in the name of Mayengbam Uttam Singh was found.
He was detained and on examination he disclosed that he was working under one Aheiba Angom, S/S Finance Secretary of PREPAK and the said demand letter was given to him by Aheiba Angom. So he was arrested at 9:30 am and seized the above mentioned articles by preparing a formal seizure memo.
