RAU, Lairikyengbam Leikai emerged champion of the Maharajkumar Ghanendrajit Memorial Super Division League 2017 which concluded at ABA Ground, Imphal East.
RAU finished with 23 points from ten matches for the champion title while UPAA Kiyamgei got the runners up title with 19 points.
Out of the eleven teams in the league, four teams including SSC Porompat, UPSA Pukhao, NIVSO Keibi and USA Khurai got relegated to the First Division from next season.
In the last league match, UPAA Kiyamgei beat UPSA Pukhao by 4-1 goals for the runners title. Romesh Singlai scored two goals while Telheiba and Nongpoknganba fetch a goal each fpr UPAA Kiyamgei team. The lone goal for UPSA team was fetch by Manglemba Singh. UPSA player N.Sanathoi got a yellow card in the match.
First Division:
Star Club, Top Moirangkampu beat SWC Khongman by 2-1 goals. Kh.Birjit and Th. Anil scored a goal each while the lone goal for SWC team was chip in by O.Rohit Singh. Star Club player Kh.Punshiba and SWC player O.Rohit got a yellow card in the match.
Imphal West League:
The Imphal West District Football Association will be orgainsing its 2nd Division and 3rd Division Football League 2017 from August 20 onwards at KYC North, Khurkhul Awang Leikai. Seven teams are participating in the 2nd Division while ten teams are participating in the 3rd Division.
