Imphal, August 30: Imphal East police has apprehended two overground workers of UNLF along with extortion notice letters from Hatta in Imphal East.
They were identified as Mutum Naobi Singh @ Mahindra, aged about 40 years, son of (Late) M. Kalachand Singh of Nongmeibung Pung Makhong, at present residing at Khanglabung, Soibam Leikai and Md. Yunus Khan, son of Md. Chaoba Khan aged about 30 years resident of Kelrao Makting Makha Leikai, Irilbung PS P.O. Hatta near Orient Hotel.
Two Extortion Notes of UNLF bearing Ref. No, DOF/U-DL/023/2017 and DOF/U-DL/025/2017 duly signed by one secretary finance, UNLF and a mobile phone along with one SIM card having no. 8787880269, one car maroon in colour bearing registration number MN-01AK/3983 with its registration certificate, one mobile phone along with a SIM card having no. 89911 60300 00551 06523
Both of them were arrested when a team of Imphal East police commandos conducted frisking and checking at Hatta near Orient Hotel.
On further police verification, both the detainees were found to be OGW of the outfit UNLF who are presently working under the command of one S/S Major of UNLF, Boicha @ Lukhomba @ Imocha. They also disclosed that, they were proceeding towards Babupara to deliver the above recovered extortion notes on the advice of the Lukhomba.
