JCILPS Students’ Wing to launch agitation tomorrow

Imphal, September 3: The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System and its  Students’ Wing have announced to launch agitations demanding implementation of an inner line permit system that would be acceptable both in the hills and plain of Manipur.

Talking to reporters the students’ wing new convenor Manjit Sarangthem said the committee is demanding to pass an uncontroversial bill within this year.

The Committee also warned that non Indigenous locals will not be allowed to contest in the forthcoming Panchayat elections.

The Committee also seeks support of the people in the movement for the cause of safeguarding the original settlers of Manipur.

It has also listed out the student bodies that would lead the agitation.

AMSU will lead in Imphal East and Thoubal, KSA in Imphal West, MSF in Bishnupur, SUK in Kakching and KSA in Jiribam.
