Imphal, September 11: GP Women College students today staged a sit-in in front of the college campus demanding the availability of Meitei Mayek text book for B.A. first semester.

Babyrose Loitongbam, a student of GP the college said that it is very disappointing for the students that the meitei mayek text book is not yet available when the semester period approaches to the last part.

She said despite assurance made by the concerned authority soft copy is not yet available at the website www.dlpi.manipur.gov.in  till date. How can the language be promoted when the authority is unable to probide text books either in soft or hard copy, she added.

She appealed for a positive solution to the issue at the earliest.

The grievances of more than 500 students of different colleges who are studying Meitei Mayek should be understood by the related department. Those officials or who so ever instructed must be booked for not complying their duty, said the protesting student.
