Imphal, September 12: Five militants were killed in a gun battle between a group of NSCN IM and a combine group of CorCom and MNPF (Manipur Naga People’s Front) at Makan uillage under Kasom Khullen block, Kamjong district at around2 am, today.
Sources say at least 5 persons were killed on the spot—3 cadres of CorCom and 2 cadres MNPF, in the gun fight. Huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the decease cadres.
Another source says one civilian died in the incident.
Makan village is 45 kilometers away from Kasom.
The combine force of Corcom and MNPF tried to move in through the dense forest of Taret Lok River located between the border no. 11 and 12 of Kamjong and Chandel through Makan, says a source.
