Imphal, September 18: 39 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) with the assistance of wildlife Institute of India and health department, Manipur organised mega medical camp, counseling – cum – interactive session at Tokpa Ching village, Chandel district on 16 Sep 2017.
A total team of five Doctors along with 12 Nursing staff rendered their service in medical camp. Health counseling was given in small groups regarding adoption of healthy lifestyle, early detection of diseases, timely referral and management of non communicable diseases. Pamphlets of AIDS awareness, hypertension, healthy diet and cancer were also distributed to public to generate awareness.
A total of 230 patients were screened including screening of patients for diabetes, obesity, hypertension and blood test for AIDS and Malaria. The huge crowd of locals at the medical camp was was an indication of a long awaited wish of the locals, said a statement released by AR.
