WORLD BAMBOO DAY PAINTING COMPETITION

Imphal; Sept. 20, 2017 (DIPR): A painting competition under the theme “E3 – Environment, Energy & Employment” was organised yesterday as a part of the 5-Day World Bamboo Day 2017 observation at Singjamei Community Hall, Imphal. The competition was held mainly to educate the children about the importance of bamboo and its role in the environment, energy and employment sectors.

In Category-A (Class I to IV), Nongyai Keisham and Sidhujit Thongam, both Class-IV, of St. George English School won the 1st and 2nd Prize while Victoria Laimayum a Class-II student of Universal Students Academy grabbed the 3rd position. Dushyan Laishram and Wahengbam Liza Devi both from Heritage Convent School and Chingdol Oinam of Universal Students Academy won consolation prizes in this Category.

Yumlembam Udoyananda, Class-VIII, Tiny Tots Unique English School; Martin Tongbram, Class-VI, Pitambara English School and Moiranthem Thoithoiba, Class-V, Regular English High School took 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in Category-B (Class V to VIII). Consolation prizes in this Category were awarded to Doulas Lambamayum, Class-V, St. George English School; Venish Keisham, Class-VIII, Pitambara English School and Laiphrakpam Rohit, Class-VIII, Don Bosco Higher Seconadry School.

Prizes of the said competition will be presented during the Prize Distribution Ceremony which is to be held on the closing ceremony of 5-Day World Bamboo Day 2017 observation on the 22nd September at Singjamei Community Hall, Singjamei, Imphal. All prize winners are requested to attend the ceremony and collect their prizes.
