Imphal, September 26: Atleast 46 persons including 10 women were picked up by state police in a cordoned and search operation conducted at three locations of Mantripukhri in Imphal East.
The search operation was conducted under the command of Wungpam Kasar ASP(LO/OPS), Robinsun Khamnam DSP-CDO, RK.Saklemba DSP (Ops), L.Deben-DSP CDO-1, Roni Mayengbam (DSP Car), Shankerjit SDPO(PRT), Bishorjit SDPO(LLI) , Lunthang Vaiphei OC-CDO/IE , OC-PRT-Ps, OC-HNG-Ps and RI/IE and OC-Women police station at the following three at Muslim colony of mantripukhri, Mother teresa area & Mercy land Gali near UCO bank in Mantripukhri.
Cordoning started at 4:20 am & verified around 1850 persons including 950 women. 46 persons including 10 women were picked up and handed over to Heingang police for further verification.
Another house to house search operation was conducted at Keishampat Aheibam Leikai and Keishampat Laishom Leirak by teams of Imphal West police commandos led by Thangkhochon Haokip, Dy. SP (Ops)/IW under the supervision of N. Nimai, ASP (Ops)/IW.
It started from 5 am till 6:10 am. About 100 houses were searched and 150 residents verified. No one was pulled up in the search operation.
