Imphal, September 28: Romi Industries’ proprietor Khumbongmayum Dhanachandra today wished  Asian Body Building Sport junior champion Laitonjam Rishikanta for his bright success in the 9th World Body Building and Physique Sports Championship to be held in October at Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia in a simple ceremony held at Romi Industries’ branch office Kwakeithel, Imphal.

In the wish giving event Dhanchandra presented him different kinds of sports suits and carry bags produced by Romi Industries while ecourage the emerging muscle man who has high hope in winning the contest at Ulaanbaatar. Dhanachandra also gave him finacial support fo Rs. 5, 000 to Rishikanta.

Rishikanta thanking Dhanachandra wished him success to make his dream of contributing in making Manipur a self reliance state in terms of employment and production.

Dhanchandra said “I am happy to get the opportunity to support Rishikanta at my level. I will continue supporting him as he keeps on endeavouring.” “I will wait with a garland in may hand for his return with the smile of success”, added Dhanachandra.

He has been supporting people who has real dreams in different field, be it education or sports.

The industry has been annually presenting awards to the schools that have produced at least 10 position holders upto the rank of 25 in the HSLC exam conducted by BSEM. Recently he encouraged Tiny Tot’s Unique School, Imphal and Nirmalabas High School, Imphal by presenting cash awards of Rs. 40,000 each for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 board exams, in a special function held in the mega event of launching school shoes on August 30.

Romi bags is the first shoe making industry producing injection moulded shoes in the North East. He is producing 4, 000 pairs of school shoes per day at his factory, Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai. He has got encouragement and supports from various sections including the state government in his endeavour to supply school shoes in the North East India. He has plans to export his products through Act East policy.

Rishikanta championed in the ‘51st Asian Body Building Championship, 2017, Junior Mr Asia 70 kg + Open Gold’championship held this August 22-26 at Seoul, Korea. This was his first international appearance. He has been selected to represent India in the 9th Word Body Building and Physique Sports Championship to be held on October 3 at Ulaanbaatar. He will be contesting in the 75 kg + category (Junior Open).

‘Prosperous Manipur’, who has been supporting Rishikanta sought the people of Manipur to give moral and financial support. It thanked Dhanachandra and everyone who has given support for Rishikanta’s forthcoming tour to Mongolia.

Dhanachandra established his industry on February 25, 1996 as a small bag industry. At present Romi Industries has four outlets in Imphal. The industry had 45 trained employees and it is in process of expanding employees. Many has been recruited recently.

He has been supplying school bags, rain coats and school uniforms through his industry once caleed Romi Bags Industries. Today he has become a shoe producer too.

Dhanachandra said it was a hurry affair for him to wish Rishikanta, while engaging in the development of his new venture.

National Awardee Dhanachandra is leaving Imphal tomorow for Germany to participate in a trade conference.
