Imphal, October 3: People Action Committee Against the Killing of Pravish Chanam, Uripok has cautioned to launch various forms of agitations if all the political parties do not express their stand against the alleged suspicious death of Pravish.

The PAC against the killing of Pravish has its serious notion that Pravish was cremated by Noida police without giving information to the family even after missing report was filed to the police. “This has made us suspicious of the death of Pravish”, said Ahongshangbam Pholen, convenor of the PAC.

Pravish, from Uripok Achom Leikai son of Chanam Jugindro Singh travelled from Hydrabad and reached Delhi on September 7 to witness a music concert on 8. Since the concert day he was found missing. His brother complained the police for Pravish missing. However the police on September 13 told him that his brother’s body was cremated as no one claimed for the dead body.

The elder brother of Pravish who stays at Delhi went to acknowledge park Police Station of Greater Noida under Goutam Budha Nagar District, Uttar Pradesh to lodge a missing report. Accordingly a missing report was lodged on September 9 at the said police station. When no prompt action was taken up, he further made a complaint at the North East Cell, New Delhi on September 11.

The police personnel of the Knowledge Park Police Station cremated the body of Pravish Chanam at around 5:00 p.m. of September 13 as unclaimed death body without giving any information to his family. This has made the family suspicious of being killed by a gang who are involving in a big racket who deals in selling of human organs. There was every possibility that if the death body is handed over to the family of Pravish, it will certainly come to light that his body organs have already been removed before he was killed. Therefore, his body might have been disposed before it was   handed   over to his family, says the action committee.

“We will take up severe form of agitations by joining hands with students organisations and people if the political parties fails to announce their stand over the death of Pravish”, said Pholen.
