Imphal, October 9: Manipur Government Services Federation, state employees union has to take up various forms of agitations until the 7th central pay commission is implemented in the state.

Mibam Rajendra Singh, president of the employees federation during a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, here, said the BJP before election promised to implement the central pay if they come to power. We see no progress of the Fitment Committee even if they are in power, added Rajendra.

In the light of commissioning the central pay, previous Congress government formed the fitment committee on December 14, last year. “We are not satisfied to the answer of the government that it is waiting for the report of the fitment committee instead of pressing the committee for the report”, said Rajendra.

We are unpleasant that our government fails to announce implementation of the 7th pay Commission when almost of the governments in the north east states have announced its implementation in their states, said Rajendra.

Chief Minister Biren Singh in the courtesy call on April 21 with 15 member delegation of Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions’ Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Govt. Employees’ Organisation (AMGEO) had said the adoption of 7th Central Pay would be considered after the fitment committee headed by the chief secretary tables its report.

Deputy chief minister Y. Joykumar Singh, who is also the finance minister, during July state assembly session said that the Government had not yet planned about the implementation of Seventh Pay or its equivalent pay to its employees.

The delaying nature of the government shows negligence towards the employees and pensioners of the rightful demand. Biometric attendance system has been installed in the state to check attendance of the employees in the government offices, but neglects the welfare terms of the employees, said Rajendra.

We have been urging the government to implement the central pay since nine months. We have decided to take up various forms of agitations including bandhs until our demand is fulfilled, said Rajendra.
