People’s protest at Keikhu Muslim Makha Leikai against IED threat

Imphal, October 24: Locals of Keikhu Muslim Makha Leikai and Meira Paibi (women activist) today staged a sit-in protesting against bomb threat to a resident of  Keikhu Muslim Makha Leikai, Imphal East.

One remote control Improvised Electronic Device (IED) was today found at the resident of one MD. Hazi Abdul Kodur (36 ), son of Late MD Samsuruddin of Keikhu which is under the jurisdiction of Porompat Police Station.

One of the family members of Hazi Abdul found the the IED which was packed in a black polythene bag was later recovered and defused by Maipur Bomb disposal squad with mounted jammer vehicle and safely detonated at Wakha Village at around 11:30 am, in Imphal East.

The protestors condemned the act and demanded to those who placed the bomb to clarify at the earliest.

While the IED was arousing the Keikhu people a hand grenade was found this afternoon inside the campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Langol.
