PHC KWATHA ON THE PIPELINE:JAYANTAKUMAR

Imphal, September 28, 2017 (DIPR): Health and Family Welfare Minister L. Jayantakumar Singh has assured to upgrade the Kwatha Primary Health Sub Centre in Tengnoupal District to Primary Health Centre. Speaking to media today at Moreh, Minister informed that the construction of Kwatha PHC is already in the work programme list of the government. For the purpose, required amount of money has already been earmarked, he added.
Minister was supposed to visit Kwatha yesterday to inspect the site for the construction of Kwatha PHC but due to some reasons, he could not be there at the spot. Minister also maintained that a cultural site will also be constructed at Kwatha village to preserve the Ancient Cultural Traditions of Manipur.
Today, Minister Jayantakumar paid an inspection visit at Moreh Hospital and PHC, Moreh. He interacted with the staff of District Hospital, Moreh and assured that the basic requirement of Moreh Hospital and PHC, Moreh will be provided as intimated and proposed by the Staff and locals.
He also inspected the site for the construction of Food Safety Office at Moreh. Regarding the requirement of Food Safety Office at Moreh, Jayantakumar said that being a border town, functioning of such facilities is very much needed. The food items come from Myanmar and China need to be quality tested, he added.
Minister also inspected the progress of the construction of Barrack Type Quarter (BTQ) at the complex of PHC, Moreh near Moreh Police Station. He showed dissatisfaction to the slow progress of the construction. Prior to his visit at District Hospital and PHC Moreh, Minister inspected the site for the construction of Cultural Centre, Moreh.
He was accompanied by L Remeshwor Meitei, MLA Keirao A/C, Secretary Health, Suman Singh, IAS, Health Director Dr. K Rajo, Director AYUSH, Dr Guneshore Sharma, Joint Director Art & Culture, Keshorjit and officials from Health Department.
