North-East students shine in 11th Cultural Function “Rajni”

Chandigarh 1st November 2017: Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh today organized its 11th Cultural Extravaganza “Rajni” at Tagore Theatre, Sector- 18, Chandigarh. Renowned Punjabi lyricist & Singer Happy Raikoti enthralled the students with his hit numbers. Thousand of students of B.Tech, MBA, LL.B, BA-LL.B, BBA, BCA, B.Com, GNM, ANM, B.Sc(Agri), BA, B.Ed, MA(Edu), Diploma etc students participated in various cultural activities.

The function commenced with the Lamp Lighting ceremony by the Aryans Group founders Prof. Roshan Lal Kataria (D.C) and Mrs. Rajni Kataria.

The function started with Ganesh Vandana as welcome by Prabha Bharti & group. Students showcased their talent though lively and exuberant performances of various folk dances like rajasthani dance by Himani & group, Jindua Folk Dance by Charanjeet, Giddha by Amandeep etc. The solo dance performance, folk orchestra and folk songs were equally engaging.

Shubham from Jammu & group performed Dogri dance & exhibited the culture of Jammu & Kashmir. Chong & group of North East performed traditional Bamboo dance and made the audience to clap repeatedly.

Urban Pendu Bhangra by Prabhjot & Group, western hip hop dance by Govind & group enthralled the audience with hit Punjabi music and dance. Comedy skit by Salman & group, Mime by Charanjit & group refreshed the mind and mood of the audience and made then laugh. Modeling by the nursing students sashayed the ramp with different cultural attires.

The exhilarating and energetic performance of Bhangra by Varinder & Group brought out lively and colourful life of rural Punjab and made the audience of to tap on their feet.

Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group; Prof. B.S Sidhu, Director, Administration; Dr. Raman Rani Gupta, Director, Academics; Ms Sukhaman Bath, Registrar; Dr. Chandrashekhar, Former ADGP; Ravinder Singh Bassi, President, District Bar Association etc were also present on the occasion.

Dr. Anshu Kataria speaking on the occasion said that Aryans Group has students from all over India who are studying in various courses. The students presented their respective cultures through their dances in the function. He added that besides studies, extra co-curricular activities are equally important. They help in the overall development of the students.
