Biren announces Rs 325 Crore special package for Tamenglong

Imphal, November 15: Chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh today announced a special package of Rs 325 crore for Tamenglong district during his visit at Tamenglong.
He inaugurated a 50 bedded Tamenglong district hospital, laid foundation stones for construction Rani Gaidinlui market Shed, FCI godown and Transit accommodation centre.
Large number of people received the chief minister during his visit. He made his visit at this hill district after he visited Churchandpur, Ukhrul, Chandel and Senapati as he took over the chief minister’s office.
Biren Singh appealed the people to make use of the hospital with care. He said all the projects for which were foundation stones were laid will be completed by last week of Janaury or by 1st week of February next year.
The transit accommodation center is being constructed to accommodate the government employees during their duty for taking up developmental works in the district.
Biren Singh during his eight month old BJP led government has been endeavourring to bring closer with the hill people. He has been listening to the grievances of the people in hill districts on 10 of every month as “Hill People’s day”.
