Imphal, December 18, 2017 : Youth affairs and sports minister, Letpao Haokip today assured to increase sports budget to avail better incentives to sports persons of the state from next budget session.
The minister gave his assurance at equipment distribution function to football clubs at Eastern Sporting Union at Eastern Sporting Youth Complex. It was organised by Four Corners Unite, Mumbai and Eastern Sporting Union.
Football training kits and equipments were distributed to 40 football clubs including those from hill districts.
Letpao Haokip said even though Manipur is a small state, its contribution in the field of sports to the country is significant and players from the state have brought various laurels even at the international level. He highlighted the skills and the ability to learn fast.
