3 KCP CADRES APPREHENDED

Imphal, January 3, 2018: Security forces have apprehended three militants belonging to KCP and KCP Poirei group from different locations.

Thoubal police commando unit today apprehended Athokpam Dinesh Singh alias Mathoi, 22 son of A. Kokngang Singh of Pechi Mayai Leikai a member of outlawed KCP while he was at his home. Following information the commando team rushed to the resident of Dinesh and conducted search. In the search another unknown suspicious youth was also detained for verification

Dinesh disclosed that he joined KCP in July, 2017 through one Aboi alias Lamtakpa Meitei of Tenth and worked under his command. He further disclosed that he collected money from different businessmen of Manipur using State Bank of India Account No. 36908803218 and handed over the same to Aboi through one Inao of Tentha. Hence, he was arrested at 03:15 from his house, said the source.

In another move, two active members of KCP (Poirei group) were apprehended by a team of 6 Assam Rifles and Imphal East police commandoes in a cordoned and search operation at Kongba crossing area. The apprehended militants were identified as Laishram Ingo, 40 son of L. Chonchon of Mongshangei Mamang Leikai and Loitongbam Hemanta Singh, 47, son of L. Kunjo Singh of Kwatheithel Konjeng Leikai. One local made 9 mm pistol with four rounds and two mobile sets were recovered from their possession says the source. Both of them are actively working under one Tayai from Pungdongbam, says police.

The apprehended persons along with the seized items were handed over to Porompat police station.
