GOVERNOR GREETS PEOPLE; CM TO LAUNCH HEALTH SHEME ON STATEHOOD DAY

Imphal, Januay 20, 2018: Governor of Manipur Najma Akbarali Heptulla has greeted the people on the occasion of Statehood Day, 2018 that will be celebrated on January 21.

In her greeting the Governor said Manipur attained Statehood on 21st January, 1972 and became a member state of the Indian Union. Statehood Day is always remembered by the people of the state with pride and happiness, a joyous occasion to celebrate and walk alongside other states in taking the country forward. It is also a day for introspection as to what we have achieved so far and evolve strategy to move forward for a secured tomorrow. “Our State has progressed as a result of our collective effort and we have come a long way since the day of our statehood. Our state has had a glorious history of peaceful co-existence, unity and brotherhood amongst the various groups of people inhabiting this beautiful land and every effort should be made to sustain it. Our destiny is in our hands, and let us makes the state peaceful and prosperous for others to follow.” She added.

Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh will launch Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) – a government of Manipur initiative at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium on the Statehood Day at J11 a.m. Cashless treatment upto Rs. 50,000/- for primary and secondary care and Rs. 2 Lakh for tertiary (Critical Care) will be provided to the family enrolled per year. Families covered under SECC Data, Widows, Disabled and AAY card holders are eligible for this scheme. A fee of Rs. 50/- will be charged per family for enrolment but will be exempted for AAY, Disabled and Widows.

On this occasion, all the people of the state from all walks of life are invited to join in the launching of the scheme to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Government of Manipur will celebrate Statehood Day at 1st Bn. Manipur Rifles Parade Ground at 9.30 am.  Chief minister, Nongthombam Biren Singh will grace the function as the chief guest. All the general public are requested to attend the function and make the programme a grand success.

As part of the function, there will be General Salute, Inspection of Parade, March Past and closing song by the Artistes of Shri Shri Bal Mukunda Dev Govt. Music College, Imphal.
